Vincent Bach 6-1/2AL Small Shank Trombone/Baritone Mpc.

Vincent Bach brass instrument mouthpieces have been a staple of the industry for nearly a century! The wide range of offerings in mouthpiece sizes makes them an ideal choice for players of all skill levels. Small shank mouthpieces are intended for use with small or medium bore tenor trombones and fit into baritones and some euphoniums. The 6-1/2AL is a great all-round mouthpiece for beginners and advancing players, used equally well in trombones or baritones/euphoniums.

The 6-1/2AL has a slightly larger rim and deeper cup, larger throat and backbore compared to a 12C. This means a warmer, broader sound while being similarly balanced in pitch stability and resistance.

Specs:

• 25.4mm/1.000" inner cup diameter
• Medium-Wide Rounded rim contour
• Medium-Deep cup depth
• 0.265" throat, 420 backbore taper

The Bach Mouthpiece Sizing System:

• the number denotes the size of the mouthpiece rim - higher numbers feel smaller, lower numbers feel larger. Most players start with a 12 or 6-1/2 rim size
• The letter(s) following the number designate special variations on the basic Vincent Bach design, such as cup depth, backbore size, or rim contour
• In the case of the 6-1/2AL, the A means it has a deeper cup and different backbore than the standard Bach 6-1/2 mouthpiece
